1959 BENTLEY S1

3,539 Bentley S1's were produced between 1957 and 1959. Of these 36 were Long wheel Base models. Of these 24 were fitted with steel bodies, while 12 were fitted with coachbuilt custom aluminum bodies over a wooden ash frame, making them lighter than the steel cars. Nine of these cars were 'Division Saloons' with a glass partition. Only ONE of these cars has a factory installed electronically operated glass division .. THIS ONE! After being manufactured in Crewe, Cheshire, England, this beauty was originally sold new by Overseas Motor Car Corporation of Dallas, Texas in July of 1959. The Park Ward body has a wheelbase of 127" .. 4" longer than the standard saloon. This is number 36 of 36 of these cars made between 1955 and 1959, making it the LAST S1 Long Wheel Base ever made. (the remaining 3,503 were standard wheelbase models.) Only 9 of the 36 were 'Division Saloons' with a glass divider, and only ONE in the world .. yes this ONE .. has an electrically operated power glass divider! The Pard Ward body is all aluminum, as opposed to the standard wheelbase pressed steel bodies. Actually, none of these cars are identical, as they were all bespoke special ordered, by the elite and privileged few. Only 9 'Division Saloons' with a factory glass divider were made, and only ONE power operated .. yes this is a ONE of a kind!
